FAQ
Septic Tank Pumping questions
Short answers about how the referral works and what to expect from a provider.
How does this work?
Send the form with a few details about your tank and property. We share your request with a local provider, who contacts you directly with availability and a quote.
Does it cost anything to ask?
No. Sending a request is free and there is no obligation to hire anyone.
How much does septic pumping cost?
It depends on tank size, access to the lid and disposal fees. National guides put many routine pump-outs in the low hundreds of dollars. Prices differ by job, and the real number comes from a provider who looks at your tank.
How often does a tank need pumping?
The EPA says household tanks are typically pumped every three to five years. Household size, water use and tank size change that. A provider can check how full yours is.
Should I pump my tank right after a flood?
Not while the drainfield is flooded or saturated. The EPA warns that pumping then is only a temporary fix and can let the tank float. Wait for the ground to drain and ask a provider to inspect the system.
Are flushable wipes safe for a septic system?
The EPA lists wipes labeled wet or baby wipes among items not to flush. Only human waste and toilet paper belong in the toilet.
Where can I find Arkansas rules for septic tank cleaners?
The Arkansas Department of Health's Onsite Wastewater program publishes a Septic Tank Cleaners rule and a list of cleaners. Ask any provider whether they appear on it.
Which areas are covered?
Jonesboro and nearby communities listed on the service area page. Providers confirm coverage for your exact location.
Ready for a real number?
Send one request. A local provider sees the job and quotes, free and with no obligation.
